For those eagerly awaiting the largest women’s sports event in Connacht, the launch of 2025 West of Ireland Women’s Mini Marathon occurred on Thursday, 27th February in Davitt College, Castlebar with Angelina Nugget as host. Moy Valley Resources IRD was excited to be there to support organisers and participants alike, and looks forward to providing assistance in the running of this headline female sporting event.
This year’s West of Ireland Women’s Mini Marathon will take place in Castlebar, Co. Mayo on Bank Holiday Sunday, 4th May with a start time of 12 noon from The Mall in the town centre. Walkers, joggers and runners will set out on a route of 10K through the town and surrounding area for an invigorating experience to remember.
Cllr Donna Sheridan, Cathaoirleach of Castlebar Municipal District, shared her pride in welcoming the iconic event back to its roots in Castlebar, and underscored its value to the community.
A specificity of this event is the partnership approach that is used in its delivery – organised by Mayo Sports Partnership in conjunction with Mayo.ie and The Western People, further community and local organisations including the Movement Gym, Castlebar, Castlebar Chamber of Commerce and Moy Valley Resources IRD come together to support the success of the mini-marathon.
Now that we have had the launch of 2025 West of Ireland Women’s Mini Marathon, the next step is to get those running shoes ready.
